Lakeview Church Zion IL

What to Expect

We would love for you to join us at Lakeview for worship and Sunday School. Never been to Lakeview Church? Curious about what to expect? Check out this page to get a good idea.

What Should I Wear?

We want you to feel comfortable during your time at Lakeview. You will find some people at Lakeview wearing a shirt and tie or dress. And, others will wear jeans and a t-shirt. Whether you dress up or dress casual, we will be glad to see you and enjoy welcoming you.

Parking

There are many parking spaces available close to the church buildings. You will find places surrounding the main worship building and the white office building.

Walking In

When you first arrive, the best place to go is to Welcome Center in the main building. You will see it as soon as you walk through the main doors. Greeters will be there ready to get to know you and take you to the proper class or to direct you to the Worship Center.

Sunday Classes

Sunday School and Adult Bible Fellowships are at 9:30 am on Sundays. They are an important part of Lakeview. In these groups, you will find community and friends that will help you grow in your relationship with Jesus. A Bible teacher will lead your class through a lesson, and then help you to apply it to your life.

Childcare

While children are welcome to remain with you during the Main Worship Service, childcare is available for infants through Kindergarten. Classes for children are staffed by loving and nurturing adults.

If children stay for the entire service, there are usually children's bulletins and activity sheets available.

Worship Music

We love all kinds of music. From hymns to new releases, we sing a number of different types of songs in the worship service. One thing you will find, though, is that they're all rich in truth...and they're even richer when intermingled with Scripture. Our musical worship team is made up of singers, pianists, guitarists, drummers, and orchestra instruments including violins, flute, and trumpets.

Preaching

Our preaching elders lead us through expository preaching. What this means is that they allow the Bible to determine the main idea and structure of their sermons. We believe that every word in the Bible is true and from God. Therefore, we seek to explain the meaning of the Bible in its original context and then apply that meaning to our lives today. You can expect biblical, relevant, and applicable preaching at Lakeview Church.  Click here to watch a sermon.

Giving

Each Sunday, we receive an offering to support our ongoing ministries as a part of the service. As a guest, please feel free to let the offering plate pass by you.
